On June 28, 2025, the Sarvodaya Integrated Rural Development Society (SIRDS), Koppal, in collaboration with the ECHO Forum, Hyderabad, leading seed companies, NGOs, and various government departments, organized a walkathon in Koppal city to mark the World Day Against Child Labour. The event was graced by Sri Abhinava Swamiji of Shri Gavimatha, Koppal and flagged off by Mr. Jagannath, Deputy Director, Pre-University Division, and Mr. Mahantesh Dargada, Member Secretary, District Legal Services Authority.
Highlights included a street play on child labour and child marriage, and a felicitation ceremony at Sahitya Bhavan, where Ms. Ashabhi and Mr. Ravi, former child labourers who have built successful professional careers, were honoured. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 500 individuals, including children, employees of seed companies, and the general public.
